Jonathan Baker, founder of protunes.org, was born in Ontario and studied classical piano until age 17. After graduating from a music rich highschool, Jonathan studied jazz performance at the University of Toronto. Before graduating with honours in 2003, Jonathan gained recognition from leading musicians and friends for his compositional ability. Soon thereafter Jonathan moved to St. Stephen, New Brunswick, and undertook a masters degree in ministry at St. Stephen's University. There he began a unique musical project: hosting nights of improvisational instrumental music to facilitate healing in the community. Recently, Jonathan's musical ambitions have been routed toward a more formal approach to teaching. Having moved back to Toronto, he is studying at the University of Toronto in hopes of achieving a degree in education.
