Private Musical Instruction
Jonathan's teaching style is unorthodox and fun, relying on comprehension and engagement as foundational tenets of music. Currently he teaches around a dozen piano students ranging from beginner to grade six, and is open to taking additional students.
Stylistic Diversity
Jonathan's stylistic diversity affords him an ability to instruct in many different musical idioms, such as classical, jazz, or contemporary/pop, while laying the foundations for a wider appreciation of music. Ear training, reading music, rhythmic accuracy, improvisation, and technique are all incorporated in each style.
Why Study Music?
It has been demonstrated that kids who study music always achieve higher marks. This is not only because early discipline structures (like regular piano practice) institute a regular mandate of diligence in kids, but because so much of music is evocative in the imaginary realm. And kids who learn to be creative from an early age will reap the benefits of that creativity their whole lives.
